Congratulations! Broadway’s Audra McDonald and Will Swenson Get Engaged

One of Broadway’s cutest couples, Audra McDonald and Will Swenson, have a very special reason to celebrate 2012. The couple got engaged over New Year’s, according to McDonald’s Facebook page. No wedding date has been announced.

Four-time Tony Award winner McDonald (Master Class, A Raisin in the Sun) is currently starring in Porgy and Bess, which opens at the Richard Rodgers Theatre on January 12. Tony nominee Swenson (Hair) continues his run at the Palace Theatre as Tick in the disco musical Priscilla Queen of the Desert. This will be the second marriage for each star.

The duo previously appeared together in the 2007 Broadway revival of 110 in the Shade, and recently joined forces for a photo shoot for the marriage equality movement, NO H8.
